3 hospitalized following crash on I-670 at I-71 in downtown Columbus

COLUMBUS, OH – Authorities responded to a collision early Sunday, July 7, in downtown Columbus that left three people injured, reports 10 WBNS.

The accident occurred on the eastbound lanes of Interstate 670 approaching the ramp to southbound I-71. Columbus Division of Police were called to the area at about 5:35 a.m.

Information regarding the events leading up to the wreck has not been made available, but first responders rushed two people to Nationwide Children’s Hospital, indicating that at least two juveniles were involved. One of the patients was listed in stable condition, while the other was said to be in serious condition.

One other victim, who suffered critical injuries, was transported to Grant Medical Center.

Crews had the ramp blocked off during the emergency response and initial investigation.

It’s unclear at this time whether charges are expected to be filed.
